End of Run Procedure for Clio2 at Magellan
To store in the Aux building:
Procedure:
- Log out of Clio on Guanaco
- Power down the Clio computer by opening the rack monitor (out on the Nas platform) and choosing "Shutdown"
- Warm-up procedure:
- Disengage the cold switch (only 1 or 2 turns are necessary)
- Close off the vacuum pump by turning the valve 90 degrees
- Remove the vacuum pump hose from the inner dewar at the hose clamp with a flat-head screwdriver
- Go down in the pump room and turn off the vacuum pump
- Turn off the Clio electronics controller (box on top right of Clio)
- Turn off the power to the electronics cabinet (couple power switches in back of electronics cabinet)
- Disconnect cables at Clio dewar end -- the motors, the temperature sensor, the power, the ethernet, the fibers -- and unscrew (Phillips head) the umbilical/tension-relief clamp (then store the screws by screwing them back in)
- Put fiber caps on (they are stored in a small ziplock bag in the toolbox)
- Move all Clio cables off the instrument and wrap the umbilical around the clamps on the electronics rack
-
Put plastic cover on dichroic.
If possible, it is useful to plug Clio into a network switch in the Aux and power up the computer once it is in place, to allow remote access of the machine. Note that we won't be running glycol cooling in the Aux, so the cabinet doors must be left open and secured (otherwise, people tend to close them and then the computer will overheat).
